I’m 43, married, and a proud mum of three. I grew up in Birmingham, UK, and now live in beautiful Torquay, Devon — a move that gave my family and me the slower pace and fresh start we truly needed.
For 20 years, I worked in childcare, starting from the very beginning, gaining my qualifications, and eventually becoming a manager responsible for the entire nursery and a team of staff. I loved supporting children, parents, and my team, but when we moved to Torquay, I realised I couldn’t take my role with me — and more importantly, it no longer felt like the direction I wanted my life to go.
That shift opened the door to something new.

My mind was always scanning for problems, preparing for the worst, and my body lived in constant fight‑or‑flight. Every day felt like a battle.
But deep down, I knew something had to shift. I couldn’t keep worrying about things I couldn’t control. I needed to move from reactive to proactive, to stop merely surviving and start enjoying my journey. I needed to reconnect with my real goals and finally listen to what my heart had been trying to tell me.
WHAT LED ME TO SUCCESS:
During one of my endless job searches, something unexpected happened. An advert appeared on my Facebook feed — and it listed everything I’d been hoping for but didn’t think I’d find. It offered freedom, flexibility, and a chance to rebuild my confidence and my future. So I took a step forward.
